Uniform

The school follows the uniform recommended by the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). Different classes/levels require different coloured uniform.

Please note

if you need to return uniform to the store for a different size, send your proof of posting (photograph of receipt) to my dance store who will then give you a code in order to get free postage off your next order - more details can be found under the refund section on the site.

Please note: any Dance/Yoga grip socks are now required for Modern and Acro classes due to COVID 19 regulations. 

 

Students should wear uniform to their dancing classes that fits correctly. Students should have hair in a classical bun for Ballet class and off the face (for example in a pony tail) for Modern Theatre and Tap classes. Hair should be in a low bun for Acrobatics classes. Adult learners may wear anything they feel comfortable dancing in.

 

Dragonflies Dance personalised T-shirts, Hoodys and Onesies are also available please use the merchandise order form and order those directly from the school.

Classical Ballet

 

​Mini Ballet

  • Any Pink leotard and skirt of your choice

  • Optional Matching Pink Cardigan

  • Pink ballet tights or ballet socks

  • Pink Ballet Shoes

Pre-primary and Primary

  • Lilac Cap Sleeve Leotard 

  • Lilac Wrap Over Skirt

  • Optional matching cardigan 

  • Pink Full Sole (Not Split Sole) Ballet Shoes (leather or Canvas)

  • Pink Ballet Tights or Pink Ballet Socks

Grades 1, 2 & 3

  • Teal Sleeveless Leotard

  • Pink Ballet Socks acceptable but Pink Ballet Tights preferred at this level

  • Pink Full Sole (Not Split Sole) Ballet Shoes (leather or Canvas)

    Character Dance Uniform (Part of the ballet syllabus from grade 1 to grade 8): 

  • Low heeled Canvas Character shoes  Grades 1 & 2

  • Cuban Heeled Canvas Character Shoes Grade 3 

  • Character Skirt with Blue Ribbons

Grades 4 & 5:

  • Mulberry Sleeveless Leotard

  • Pink Ballet Tights

  • Pink Ballet Shoes

    Character Dance Uniform:

  • Cuban Heeled Canvas Character Shoes

  • Character Skirt (Pink Ribbons)
     

Grades 6, 7 & 8:

  • leotard (students decide on colour as a class)

  • Long Circular chiffon skirt (to match leotard)

  • Pink Ballet Tights

  • Pink Ballet Shoes

    Character Dance Uniform

  • Cuban Heeled Canvas Character Shoes

  • Character Skirt as in Grades 1 - 5 ribbons to match leotard

 

Intermediate-Foundation/Intermediate

  • Royal Blue Thin Strap Leotard

Modern & Tap

Primary, Grade 1 &2:

  • Girls Navy Blue Catsuit

  • For Modern: no shoes just bare feet 

  • For Tap: Girls Black Low heeled Tap Shoes with heel tap

  • Boys oxford style/jazz tap

  • Black socks (ankle length) 

 

Grades 3, 4 & 5:

  • Navy Blue Catsuit

  • Black cut off dance leggings

  • For Modern: no shoes just bare feet

  • For Tap: oxford style/jazz tap shoe with teletone taps

  • Black Socks

Grade 6, Intermediate, Advanced:

  • Any Leotard of your choice (preferably with simple straps)

  • Black cut off dance leggings

  • For Modern: bare feet or soft tan jazz shoes

  • For Tap: Oxford Style/Jazz Tap Shoe with teletone taps
