Festivals & Competitions
Dance festivals are events where students perform and compete against other dance schools. Students are specially selected to take part in festivals by the school principal as the standard is high. Students gain a huge amount from taking part such as a greater sense of performance, organisational skills, confidence and from the additional training attended working towards performances, students will also improve on their technique. Students from the school have placed 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th for solos, duets and group dances.
We have 2 DDNC Elite Teams that compete group dances at festivals, the Junior Elite Team (age 12 and under), Teen Elite Team (15 and Under) and Senior Elite Team (age 18 and under) are made up of dance students in the school that show an aptitude for performance and dance and that already study ballet, modern and tap at the school. It is a privilege to be asked to join either of these teams as student's gain extra training in many dance styles for a very low contribution fee and extra performance experience as team.
