About Dragonflies Dance

Dragonflies Dance classes are held each week in Classical Ballet, Modern Theatre, Jazz, Tap, Acrobatic Arts and DDMIX. Classes run 6 days a week in the villages of North Curry, Fivehead, Hatch Beauchamp and Curry Rivel. Classes start from Mini Ballet at age 3 right up to the highest vocational training levels (Advanced 2 and pre-professional) and we hold dance fitness classes for adults too (DDMIX).

 

Dance is for everybody so why not join the fun!

Our mission statement: We provide a safe, supportive and engaging environment for dance students of all ages. Students will have the opportunity to express themselves, be creative and sociable in relation to dance. We promote and provide opportunities for both the recreational and vocational dancer and strongly believe and promote all round dancers with our training methods.

You can come to classes to learn to dance just to fun or if you would like to take examinations we have a 100% pass rate for exams in all styles, with the many of students receiving the highest award Distinction.

 

Dragonflies Dance is an award winning dance school we are the South West Prestige Awards 'Dance Academy of the Year 20/21' and have been a finalist for International Competition Dance School of the Year 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020. Both competitions are based on our excellent exam and festival results but also our kind and nurturing approach to teaching, all the correct policies and procedures being in place to protect our students both young and old and our outstanding business model.

All dancers get the opportunity to perform in our biannual show as well as community performances. For the more  serious dancer we offer 3 elite teams who compete locally. We love to regularly bring  professional dancers into the school to deliver workshops for all dancers of all ages and ability and guide dancers where appropriate to audition successfully for professional training programs to further their dance training if they chose to take up a performance or teaching career.
